EU consumer groups combat geoblocking

Consumer rights groups across the EU  have begun a campaign to inform consumers about geoblocking, a practice whereby websites block visitors automatically based on their location or route them to a specific site based on their country of origin. This may mean certain content is not available or some products are not for sale. The European consumer group Beuc is promoting an information video on the issue. It shows a baker asking customers their nationality before serving them and refusing to serve foreigners. The European Commission is working on proposals to combat geoblocking, saying it
