EU copyright reform 'threatens hundreds of thousands of jobs' – YouTube CEO

The European Union's new copyright reform directive, recently approved by the EU Parliament, could drastically change the internet and cost thousands of jobs, according to a quarterly letter to creators posted by YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. Referring above all to Article 13 of the legislation, which upholds the principle that platforms could be held liable for content uploaded by users, Wojcicki said the article as currently worded "threatens to shut down the ability of millions of people… to upload content to platforms like YouTube," and that it also "threatens to block users in the EU from
