EU Council proposes minimum contract terms for OTT services

The Council of the EU has adopted its position on a proposed directive to harmonise contract terms for suppliers of consumer digital content and services across the EU. The measure targets a wide range of services, from online music and video providers to cloud storage and social media such as Facebook and YouTube. Notably it would apply not just to paid services, but also to any service that collects a user's personal data in exchange for providing an online service.
