EU mobile operators reject latest proposal to reform ePrivacy regulation

The European mobile industry has criticised the latest proposal to reform the EU's ePrivacy regulation, which covers privacy of communications over telecom networks. The mobile operators want more freedom to monetise metadata from their networks. Industry groups GSMA and ETNO said that the current EU president Germany was not listening to the interests of other states and instead favouring its own political interests.
