EU parliament urges EC to adopt ambitious digital trade strategy

The European Parliament has given its approval to a report drafted by MEP Marietje Schaake calling for the creation of an ambitious European digital trade strategy that enables the EU to combat new forms of digital protectionism and promote its values. After a year of internal discussions, the European Commission has yet to present a position on cross-border data transfers and unjustified data localisation requirements.
