EU presses Facebook, Google, Twitter over user terms - report

European Union authorities have increased pressure on Facebook, Twitter and Google to amend their terms of service after proposals submitted by the companies were deemed insufficient, reports Reuters. EU consumer protection authorities first sent letters to the companies in December saying that some of their service terms broke European consumer protection law. The tech giants were subsequently given until 20 July to submit new proposals, which need to be implemented by the end of September, said the report, with an unnamed source adding that two of the companies had submitted amended
