EU proposes new compromise on roaming fair-use allowance

The European Commission and Parliament are nearing a compromise on the proposed 'roam like home' allowance. Following the first meeting 23 March on reconciling the Parliament and EU Council's stances on the roaming regulation, the Latvian presidency issued a proposal to allow each mobile user seven days of 'roam like home' a year. According to the documents published on the Statewatch website, this would include a minimum daily allowance of 5 minutes of calls made, 5 minutes of calls received, 5 SMS and 10 MB. Mobile providers would also be required to give customers the means of tracking
