EU pushes Facebook, Twitter, Google to do more to fight fake news ahead of elections

The European Commission has again called on Facebook, Google and Twitter to step up their efforts against fake news and disinformation. This follows the latest monthly reports from the companies on the measures taken ahead of EU elections in May. The European Commission said the reports are not detailed enough and it may still consider regulatory action.
