EU roaming proposal puts Transatel business plans on hold

European mobile services provider Transatel has warned that the European parliament's proposal to cut roaming rates further puts its business expansion plans at risk. Transatel offers a mobile service targeting customers who travel often among France, the Benelux and Switzerland, using Sim cards that can carry multiple numbers. The company said in a statement that the continuous cuts in roaming rates put its profitability under pressure and may mean shelving plans to expand its business to Germany and the UK.
