EU states call for light touch to internet regulation

Half of the European Union's member states want all barriers to the free flow of data within and outside the 28-nation bloc removed, according to a letter seen by Reuters. The letter addressed to the European Commission and current rotating EU presidency the Netherlands calls for unlimited cross-border data flows with a view to ensuring that the continent can benefit from new data-driven technologies. A separate report from Bloomberg said the letter calls on the European Commission to refrain from introducing new regulations for services. Regulators "should refrain from one-size-fits-all
