EU telecom ministers oppose greater powers for Berec

Monday 4 December 2017 | 14:47 CET | News
Update: 4 December 2017 | 16:14 CET
EU telecom ministers have agreed their position on the proposed reform of Berec and said they will start talks already 06 December with the European Parliament and European Commission on a compromise over the final version of the legislation. The EU member states have largely opposed the Commission's proposal to give Berec more powers and have linked clearance of the Berec proposal to reaching an agreement also on the new Electronic Communications Code. The aim is to complete both pieces of legislation in the first half of 2018.
