EU to force major firms to publish tax bills - report

The European Commission (EC) is understood to be preparing new legislation to force multi-national corporations such as Amazon, Facebook and Google to publicly disclose their earnings and tax bills in Europe, reports The Guardian. The legislation will be tabled in early-April, according to three senior EU officials familiar with the proposals. It will oblige large corporations to reveal their profits and the tax they pay in each market where they operate within the EU. Meanwhile, following a GBP 130 million back tax agreement between Google and the UK Government, the Guardian also reports
