EU to invest EUR 100 mln in AI and blockchain startups in 2020

The European Commission has announced the launch of a new investment scheme for artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain-focused startups in Europe. The scheme will be run by the European Investment Fund and will make available EUR 100 million in 2020 to support companies working in this sector, with the EC adding in a blog post that it expects the fund to attract a further EUR 300 million from private investors. Further information about how to apply for funding will be announced soon.
