European consumer organisations start group claim against Facebook

Thursday 31 May 2018 | 10:53 CET | News
Belgian consumer group Test-Achats/Test-Aankoop has launched a group claim against Facebook about the data that Cambridge Analytica was able to get about 87 million Facebook users. These included tens of thousands of Dutch and Belgian users. Sister organisations in Italy, Portugal and Spain are also starting lawsuits to claim damages. Dutch consumer organisation Consumentenbond said it was not able to join the initiative but that it supports it wholeheartedly.
