European countries, regions to create new connected car 5G testing corridors

The European Commission has announced a series of new agreements to create a pan-European network of 5G corridors for connected and automated driving at its annual Digital Day in Brussels. The EC's aim is to free up hundreds of kilometers of motorways where tests can be conducted up to the stage where a car can operate itself with a driver present under certain conditions, known as the third level of automation.
