European Parliament backs digital services tax, with wider base

The European Parliament has approved two new opinions calling for a tax on digital service providers in the EU. By a large majority, the MEPs approved proposals for a tax that covers a wider range of digital services, including video streaming providers such as Netflix, and a lower minimum revenue subject to the proposed digital sales tax, from EUR 40 million per year.
