European Parliament wants 'full audit' on Facebook after data breach

Friday 26 October 2018 | 14:23 CET | News
The European Parliament has demanded that Facebook face a "full audit" by EU Union bodies following the scandal over the misuse of customer data by Cambridge Analytica and fears about election meddling. In a statement the parliament said MEPs adopted a resolution on 25 October on grounds that the social network breached not just the trust of European users but EU data protection law in the scandal in which the personal data of 87 million Facebook users, including up to 2.7 million in the EU, was improperly obtained and misused.
