European pay OTT market to grow by 80% by 2017 - study

Europe's premium OTT market is expected to show rapid growth over the next three years, despite barriers to entry, according to a study by MTM for subscription billing company Vindicia and video streaming platform Ooyala. The study forecasts an 80 percent growth trajectory for 2015-2017, looking at 30 OTT service providers in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. The UK premium OTT market is projected to grow to GBP 390 million in 2017 from GBP 110-130 million in 2013. The German market is expected to grow to EUR 117 million in 2017 from EUR 30-35 million in 2015. The Dutch market is forecast
