Europeans better informed about cybercrime but more concerned - study

Wednesday 29 January 2020 | 15:40 CET | News
European residents are becoming increasingly aware of the threat of cybercrime and less confident about their ability to stay safe online, according to the EC's latest survey on attitudes towards cybercrime throughout the EU. The findings showed that 52 percent of respondents consider themselves fairly well or very well informed about cybercrime, up from 46 percent in 2017. However, less than 6 in 10 (59%) of internet users now believe they can protect themselves sufficiently against cybercrime, down from over 7 in 10 (71%) in 2017.
