Eutelsat lodges appeal against Inmarsat over EAN licence terms in France

Friday 27 April 2018 | 14:09 CET | News
Eutelsat has filed an appeal at the Conseil d'Etat (Conseil d'Etat) to overturn a ruling by French telecom regulator Arcep authorising Inmarsat to use S-band spectrum for ground-based stations that make up part of its European Aviation Network (EAN), reports Le Figaro. The EAN project for in-flight internet services already faces legal action at the European Court of Justice from Eutelsat, ViaSat and Panasonic, which lodged a complaint in July 2017 on the basis that Inmarsat's planned use of S-band spectrum failed to meet the terms of its licence.
