Eutelsat raises stake in LEO satellite company OneWeb

Eutelsat has announced that its holding in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite company OneWeb has increased from 17.6 percent to 22.9 percent. This was achieved by exercising a call option on a portion of the latest OneWeb funding round subscribed by Bharti Global, said Eutelsat. In recent months, OneWeb received confidence from existing and new investors, with Bharti agreeing a further USD 500 million injection in late June, and business conglomerate Hanwha buying a 8.8 percent stake in the company for USD 300 million in mid-August.
