Facebook acquires Copa Libertadores rights until 2022

The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) has announced that Facebook recently acquired the rights to air the 2019-2022 Copa Libertadores football tournaments on its platform. Under the terms of the deal, the social media network will exclusively stream 27 out of 46 Thursday night games in all 10 of Conmebol's member nations up to the quarter-final stage. The company has also acquired shared rights to air games played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, said Conmebol in a statement.
