Facebook commits to invest EUR 10 million in AI research in France

Monday 22 January 2018 | 10:29 CET | News
Facebook has pledged to invest EUR 10 million in its Paris artificial intelligence (AI) lab by 2022. The funds will be used to double the research team at the facility, bringing to 60 the overall number of scientists and engineers, and will support a four-fold rise in PhD candidates studying at the lab, from ten previously to 40 over the next five years. In addition, the company has committed to back financially a series of projects, including the installation of new servers for French research organisations and funding for open data initiatives.
