Facebook cuts Kenya Wi-Fi hotspot prices by 35%

Facebook has slashed the price of internet by an average of 35 percent, barely six months after launch, stepping up competition for major telecom operators in Kenya, reports Business Daily. Surf Kenya, a ISP and Facebook's partner, announced the new rates for its Express Wi-Fi service. The Daily 100 megabyte (MB) bundle is now priced at KES 15, while the weekly plan costs KES 50 for 400MB and KES100 for one gigabyte (1GB). Monthly bundles will cost KES 200 per for 2.2GB and KES 500 for 5.75GB.
