Facebook files injunction against data protection order

Thursday 20 October 2016 | 17:02 CET | News
Facebook has filed an injunction request at the administrative court against administrative order of the Hamburg data protection commissioner, according to Heise Online citing data commissioner Johannes Caspar. He also said that Facebook informed him that the data of Whatsapp users with German mobile numbers is no longer forwarded to Facebook. Facebook's injunction request focuses the fact that German law does not apply to the data transfer that is meant to improve the services for Whatsapp users. Caspar said that he expects the court to let the privacy of millions of German users prevail.
