Facebook is in talks to lease a landmark building in Manhattan, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The company hopes to hire 700,000 square feet worth of space at the Farley Building, in New York City. The new space would come on top of Facebook’s recent deal to lease 1.5 million square feet at the new Hudson Yards neighborhood, cut last month.
If the Farley deal is completed, the new leases would create space for more than 14,000 Facebook employees, according to rough estimates by real-estate consultants.
