Facebook launches Marketplace community shopping service

Facebook has announced the launch of a new community-oriented e-commerce service called Marketplace, designed to help users buy and sell with each other locally. Describing Marketplace as "a convenient destination to discover, buy and sell items with people in your community," Facebook said the service simply builds on the 450 million people who already use Facebook Groups to buy and sell goods every month. A dedicated Marketplace shopping icon will now replace the Messenger icon on the bottom row of Facebook's mobile app for iPhone and Android, with users able to adjust the built-in location
