Facebook must face local data protection regulators, EU court opinion finds

Facebook has suffered a setback in its claim to fall under Irish oversight for data protection regulation in the EU. The EU Court of Justice's advocate general issued an opinion in a case from Germany saying the German privacy regulator could take action against the company. The opinion is not binding, and the full EU court must still give a ruling in the case.
