Facebook plans Danish data centre

Facebook is to build a data centre in the Tietgenbyen commercial area of Odense, on the Danish island of Funen, according to newspaper Fyens Stiftstidende's website. According to Fyens.dk, the construction phase will create 1,000 to 1,200 jobs, with UK company Mace contracted to carry out the work. It added that experience in Sweden and Ireland indicates that the data centre is likely to generate thousands of jobs in the longer term.
