Facebook privacy settings fall short of law - study

The changes made by Facebook in its privacy settings this year do not meet the requirements of personal data protection law, according to a report by academic researchers for the Belgian Privacy Commission. The researchers from the Catholic University of Leuven and Free University of Brussels said Facebook users have no choice but to accept Facebook's terms or stop using the social network. According to the terms initiated 30 Janaury, the social network may tracks users' activities on websites and across devices and use photos on their Facebook pages for commercial purposes.
