Facebook has announced that it’s releasing the pared down mobile version of its social media platform, Facebook Lite, to more countries with a view to attracting users without fast data connections. "To help everyone have a great Facebook experience regardless of where they connect or the bandwidth they have, in many countries we rolled out Facebook Lite as a standalone, native app with features such as News Feed, status updates, push notifications, and camera/photo integration," said the company in a statement.
Facebook Lite was first launched in 2015 and is available in over 100 mostly developing markets. An Android version is now being rolled out to the wider world, including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, France, Germany and Ireland.Facebook rolls out Lite version to US, Canada, UK, Australia
