Facebook starts Building 8 research lab

Facebook has started Building 8, a new research lab to develop hardware products, headed by former Google executive Regina Dugan, the Wall Street Journal reported. The new lab will develop hardware products that advance the company's mission of connecting the world, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a blog post, adding that Facebook will invest "hundreds of people and hundreds of millions of dollars into this effort over the next few years."
