Facebook starts flagging state-sponsored media posts

Facebook has started labeling news on the social network as published by state-controlled media. The plans were first announced last October as part of efforts to flag false information in the run-up to US elections in November 2020. Facebook said "people should know if the news they read is coming from a publication that may be under the influence of a government".
