Facebook starts roll-out of Place tips

Facebook launched Place Tips, a service that enables businesses such as coffee shops to send updates to a person's smartphone when they are nearby, writes online publication BBC.co.uk. According to the product's Facebook explanation page, Place tips show customers more info about places they visit, including their friends' photos, experiences and moments from that place. Their location is determined using mobile networks, Wi-Fi, GPS and Facebook Bluetooth beacons.
