Facebook starts using hashtags

Facebook has introduced hashtags, similiar to Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest. This will allow users to add context to a post or show that it is part of a larger discussion. Clicking on a hashtag in Facebook will reveal a feed of what other pages and people are saying about a topic or event and allow the Facebook user to contribute to the discussions. The social network said this would help users « get a larger view of what's happening or what people are talking about ».
