Facebook to flag false information ahead of US elections

Tuesday 22 October 2019 | 14:22 CET | News
Facebook has announced new efforts to combat false and misleading information on the social network. Information found to be false by third-party fact-checkers will receive a more prominent label on the social network's pages, as well as on Instagram, including a pop-up when users try to share the information. This is part of a wider effort to support the social media company's credibility ahead of the US elections in 2020.
