Facebook top app in Chile, on 90% of smartphones

Facebook is the most popular smartphone app in Chile, according to a report from Movistar. Around 90 percent of smartphones users actively use the app, followed by 85 percent using Google, YouTube and WhatsApp, and 73 percent on Gmail. Other popular apps include Facebook Messenger (66%), Google Drive (59%), Twitter (37%) and Instagram (22%), while Spotify is used by 9 percent, Dropbox by 5 percent and Snapchat by 3 percent. Apps showing strong growth include Uber, which has increased by 500 percent since June. Pokemon Go meanwhile reached its peak in August and has since declined in use.
