Facebook unveils video-based profile app for high-schoolers

Tuesday 23 August 2016 | 16:27 CET | News
Facebook has unveiled Lifestage, a new stand-alone app that will enable high schoolers to build a profile made up solely of "video fields." The new type of profile will allow high-schoolers to show others who they are and to find out more about the people in their school community as well as meet new people. Facebook plans to roll out Lifestage on a school by school basis. By default, all schools start locked and as soon as 20 people sign up for any particular school, the school unlocks. From there, the company will explore how to further expand Lifestage.
