Facebook will pay USD 650 mln to settle facial recognition privacy lawsuit

Facebook will pay a total of USD 650 million to settle a lawsuit over the company's use of facial recognition technology, writes local media in the US, citing court documents presented by Facebook. The filing represents a revised settlement that increases the total payout by USD 100 million to USD 550 million and comes after a federal judge refused the original proposal as it didn't adequately punish Facebook.
