Fastweb, ZTE present 5G use case for monitoring Roman monuments

Wednesday 5 February 2020 | 10:42 CET | News
Italian operator Fastweb and network partner ZTE presented a new 5G use case in Rome to monitor the capital's buildings of historical and artistic value. The partners collaborated with the city council and L'Aquila University on a project to install 5G-connected sensors in the Palazzo dei Conservatori and the new Sala Esedra around Marco Aurelio's equestrian statue in Rome's Capitoline Museums. The system in question is a prototype 5G standalone solution that uses Fastweb's 5G 3.5GHz frequencies and is part of the 'Roma5G' project unveiled back in September 2017.
