FCC chairman seen backing Obama stance on net neutrality

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler strongly hinted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that he would propose net neutrality rules that treat broadband providers as utilities subject to more rigorous regulation than they have been to date, the LA Times reports. President Barack Obama earlier gave his backing to reclassifying ISPs under Title II of the Communications Act, a proposal strongly opposed by industry players. The FCC's original proposal would have allowed ISPs to strike deals on improved access with content companies and online services as long as they were "commercially
