FCC may change definition of broadband - report

Tuesday 3 June 2014 | 15:26 CET | News
Currently the definition of high-speed internet is broadband that provides speeds of 4 megabits per second (Mbps). However, with the increased demand for streaming music and video, consumers are requiring much more bandwidth than they did even five years ago. Because of this, the Federal Communications Commission is considering upping the definition of broadband, a change that may have huge implications for the way internet providers are regulated, reported The Washington Post.
