FCC publishes Open Internet rules

The FCC has published its Open Internet rules, adopted in late February by the US regulator. The new rules apply to fixed and mobile broadband providers alike and prohibit ISPs from blocking or slowing access to any legal content, applications, services or devices. The FCC also banned paid prioritisation, so broadband providers may not favor certain internet traffic over others. This rule is aimed at prohibiting ISPs from prioritizing content and services of their affiliates or allowing certain content providers to pay extra for so-called 'fast lanes'.
