FCC seeks comment on EUR 900 mln for Puerto Rico and USVI network repair

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved additional immediate funding to accelerate the restoration of communications networks in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands following the devastating impact of Hurricanes Maria and Irma last year. Specifically, the FCC is now seeking comment on injecting almost USD 900 million in medium and long-term funding into expanding and improving broadband access on the islands. To accomplish these goals, the Commission created the Uniendo a Puerto Rico Fund (Bringing Puerto Rico Together Fund) and the Connect USVI Fund.
