FET, APT to share 5G spectrum in Taiwan

Wednesday 9 September 2020 | 09:33 CET | News
Taiwanese telecom operators Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) and Asia Pacific Telecom (APT) have agreed to share 5G spectrum. Under the terms of the agreement, APT will pay TWD 9.47 billion (approximately USD 323.23 million) to secure 80MHz bandwidth in the 5G 3.5GHz band and the right to use 18MHz or 22 percent of FET's total bandwidths on the 3.5GHz band for 20 years, DigiTimes reports, citing a FET-APT joint statement. FET paid TWD 40.6 billion to secure the spectrum that it will now share with APT.
