Fiat Chrysler Automobiles forges EUR 16 bln, 5-year plan to invest in electric-powered, self-driving cars

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles created a five-year plan whose aim is boosting sales of SUVs and trucks and investing in future technologies such as electric-powered and self-driving cars, writes the Wall Street Journal. If its plan works out, the automaker expects to double operating profit to EUR 16 billion (USD 18.71 billion) by 2022 and hit double-digit profit margins from 6.8 percent today.
