Fibre broadband reaches milestone 1 mln Dutch subscribers

Broadband via fibre networks reached the milestone of 1 million subscribers in the Netherlands at the end of March 2016, according to the Dutch Broadband 2016 Q1 report from Telecompaper. The 5 percent quarterly growth in fibre broadband connections helped the total broadband market to grow by 0.8 percent during the first quarter and reach almost 7.2 million lines at the end of March. Cable broadband also grew slightly in the quarter, and with over 3.3 million connections remained the most popular broadband technology in the Netherlands.
