French operator Free has announced that in the coming months, it will start commercialising its FTTH broadband offers over the public initiative networks run by Covage in many rural municipalities across France. The deal between the two partners includes projects where Covage is investing on a private initiative basis, such as the ongoing fibre deployment covering mid-size towns in the Lille metropolitan area. Overall, Covage has committed to reach 1.4 million premises by 2023 across all the open-access networks that are currently under deployment.
