First areas in rural Scotland get fibre broadband services

The first cabinet bringing next generation broadband services to rural Scotland is now live in the Moray town of Buckie. Around 400 premises in Buckie can now order fibre services and this figure will increase to more than 5,300 as BT engineers complete the local upgrade in the coming weeks. This is the first phase of the GBP 410 million Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband project. In the Highlands and Islands, other parts of Moray and around Inverness will go live by April.
