First stage of Angola Cables project is completed

The Monet cable, which will interconnect the cities of Fortaleza and Santos in Brazil with Miami in the US by fibre optics, reached Fortaleza on 12 September, reports O Povo. The USD 110 million structure forms part of the Angola Cables project, worth a total of USD 300 million, which could make Fortaleza into an international telecommunications hub. Monet is a joint venture by Angola Cables, Antel (Uruguay) and Algar Telecom (Brazil).
